Considerations for connecting USB hardware to Android tablets
Before connecting USB hardware to your Android tablets, review the following considerations:
- If you're using the POS Tablet Stand (USB-C) with a compatible Android tablet and supported USB hardware, then you can plug your supported USB hardware into your POS Tablet Stand (USB-C).
- For best functionality, use one of the compatible Android tablets.
- If you're using a compatible third-party POS stand with an Android tablet, then you can use the Shopify POS Hub to connect supported USB hardware. If you're not sure if your setup is working, then try connecting common USB hardware, such as a keyboard, to test the connection.
- The Shopify POS Hub isn't compatible with the POS Tablet Stand (USB-C), so if you use this stand, then you'll need a compatible third-party tablet stand.
Compatible Android tablets
If you have a compatible tablet and are using the POS Tablet Stand (USB-C), then you can use supported USB hardware. If you don't have a compatible tablet and are using the POS Tablet Stand (USB-C), then you might have issues connecting USB hardware. If you don't have a compatible tablet, then you can use a third-party stand and an external USB hub.
