Shopify Product Network commissions, reports, and payouts

You earn commissions after a customer purchases a product from another brand that they discover on your store through the Shopify Product Network app or in email campaigns. You can review your earnings, reporting, and payout details in the Shopify Product Network app in your Shopify admin.

How Shopify Product Network commissions work

You earn a percentage of sales from products purchased on your store through the Shopify Product Network. Commission applies when a customer buys a seller product after discovering it through a placement on your store or through Shopify Messaging email campaigns. You earn the same commission rate no matter which placement type leads to the conversion. Turning on more placements gives customers more chances to discover seller products, which can increase your potential commission.

Seller products are suggested automatically based on customer data and the products in your catalog. Recommendations are designed to maximize the chance that a visitor converts, and the amount you earn per conversion. You don't earn commission when a customer chooses not to purchase products recommended by Shopify Product Network. There's no impact to your commission earnings when a store cancels or refunds an order for a seller product that was purchased through your store.

Getting paid for Shopify Product Network commissions

The following sections explain when commissions are paid and how to choose the payout method that works best for your business.

Payout schedule and methods

Payouts accrue throughout the month and are issued to your account shortly after the end of each month for the prior month. For example, the commissions that you accrued in September are paid after September 30.

You can get paid for Shopify Product Network commissions by either of the following methods:

• Cash payouts: Your commissions are paid directly to your Shopify Payments payouts. This is the standard payout method, with no additional processing required. Learn more about getting paid with Shopify Payments.
• Shop Campaigns credits: You can choose to receive your commissions as Shop Campaigns credits instead of cash, which you can use towards funding your own Shop Campaigns ads. You might occasionally be offered promotions to boost your earnings by choosing Shop Campaigns credits over cash payouts.

Change your commission payout method

You can update your commission payout method at any time from the Shopify Product Network app.

Steps:

1. From your Shopify admin, go to Apps > Product Network.

2. Go to Settings.

3. In the Commission payout method section, select Cash payouts or Shop Campaigns credits.

4. Click Save.

View earnings, reporting, and payouts

You can view orders, earnings, payout information, and analytics in the Shopify Product Network app.

Where to find commission estimates and actual earnings

• During setup: Estimated earnings are available during setup based on your store's traffic and conversion. These estimates aren't guaranteed.
• After you activate the app: You can view actual earnings and analytics in the Product Network app, as described in later sections on this page.

Shopify Product Network reporting

Your Shopify Product Network overview includes the following metrics about customer activity, purchases, commissions, and payouts:

• Clicks: How many times customers clicked seller products on your store through Product Network:
  • Review Clicks by placement for click activity across all placement types.
  • Review Clicks by category for a category-level click breakdown.
• Network purchases: How many orders included seller products purchased through placements on your online store.
• Commissions: The dollar amount of commission earnings from Shopify Product Network for the timeframe you've selected.
• Payouts: Your recent payout information. Each payout includes the date, the commissions amount for that payout, the payout period, payout type, and status. Refer to Payout statuses for Shopify Product Network for what each status means.
