Customization options for printed receipts
You can customize printed receipts in the receipt visual editor. The customization options are grouped into three receipt sections: the header, the transaction group, and the footer. Each option applies to specific receipt types, such as sales, return and exchange, gift, and gift card receipts.
For advanced customizations beyond these options, you can add custom Liquid blocks to the header or footer of your printed receipts.
The receipt code editor isn't available for POS locations in Italy or France. Refer to considerations for using the receipt visual editor for the compliance and regional requirements that apply to receipt customization.

Shopify POS printed receipt Header section
The header appears at the top of every receipt. You can customize the following header options:

The transaction group contains the line items and order totals for the sale. You can customize the following transaction group options:

You can display or hide the following Order Summary settings:
Compliance note: Total item and line count is required and activated by default for all merchants selling in France in order to be NF525 compliant. Activating total item and line count is encouraged for merchants selling in the EU/UK in order to meet fiscal compliance requirements. A required tax summary table, formatted for the location's market, replaces the default tax summary. This applies to merchants selling in Canada, the EU, and the UK, and the table can't be edited or removed. | Sale, Return and exchange |
