Setting up the Star Micronics TSP143IIIU USB receipt printer

The Star Micronics TSP143IIIU receipt printer is a USB receipt printer that you can connect to Shopify POS through the Shopify POS Hub. Before you set up the printer, make sure that you meet the requirements.

Connect the Star Micronics TSP143IIIU USB receipt printer with Shopify POS

Before you can print receipts, connect the Star Micronics TSP143IIIU USB receipt printer to your POS device through the Shopify POS Hub. The Shopify POS Hub is compatible with iPad and Android devices.

Steps:

1. Before you connect your hardware to the Shopify POS Hub, set up the POS Hub:

   1. Plug the Shopify POS Hub power cord into a power source.
   2. Connect the Shopify POS Hub's USB-C or Lightning cable to your POS device.
   3. Plug the other end of the Shopify POS Hub's USB-C or Lightning cable into the tablet port on the bottom of the Shopify POS Hub. Don't use any other USB-C port on the Shopify POS Hub for the tablet cable.

2. Plug the receipt printer into a power source.

3. Turn on the receipt printer.

4. Load the thermal receipt paper into the printer.

5. Optional: Connect the receipt printer to a supported cash drawer using the cash drawer cable.

6. Connect the receipt printer's USB cable to a USB port on the Shopify POS Hub.

7. In Shopify POS, tap the icon.

8. Tap + Add hardware > Receipt printer > Star Micronics > USB.

9. Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm the connection.

After connecting your printer, don't forget to:

• Set it as the default printer (optional)
• Print a test receipt
• Test the connection to the cash drawer (if applicable)
