Plug in your Star Micronics TSP143IV receipt printer

Before you can use the receipt printer, you need to connect your printer to the power supply.

Steps:

  1. Remove the panel on the back of the receipt printer.
  2. Plug one end of the power cable into the back of your receipt printer.
  3. Plug the power cable into the AC adapter.
  4. Plug the other end of the AC adapter into a power outlet, and then turn on the printer.

If the paper is loaded, then a diagnostic report prints.

Pair and connect your Star Micronics TSP143IV receipt printer with your POS device

Before you can print receipts, you need to pair and connect the Star Micronics TSP143IV receipt printer with your POS device.

Steps:

USB
  1. Before you connect your hardware to the Shopify POS Hub, set up the POS Hub:

    1. Plug the Shopify POS Hub power cord into a power source.
    2. Connect the Shopify POS Hub's USB-C or Lightning cable to your POS device.
    3. Plug the other end of the Shopify POS Hub's USB-C or Lightning cable into the tablet port on the bottom of the Shopify POS Hub. Don't use any other USB-C port on the Shopify POS Hub for the tablet cable.
  2. Connect your receipt printer to the power supply.

  3. Load the receipt paper.

  4. Optional: Connect the receipt printer to a supported cash drawer using the cash drawer cable.

  5. Connect the receipt printer's USB cable to a USB port on the Shopify POS Hub.

  6. In Shopify POS, tap the Connectivity Icon > + Add hardware.

  7. Tap Receipt printer > Star Micronics > USB.

  8. Select TSP100IV.

  9. Tap Connect, and then tap Done.

  10. Confirm that your printer displays as connected under Receipt Printers.

LAN
  1. Connect your receipt printer to the power supply.
  2. In Shopify POS, tap the Connectivity Icon > + Add hardware.
  3. Tap Receipt printer > Star Micronics > Ethernet/LAN.
  4. Select TSP100IV.
  5. Tap Connect and then Done.
  6. Confirm that your printer displays as connected under Receipt Printers.
Wi-Fi using the MCW10 Wireless LAN Adapter
  1. Connect your receipt printer to the power supply and connect your Star Micronics MCW10 Wireless LAN Adapter to the receipt printer.
  2. Plug one end of the LAN cable into the LAN 1 port of the MCW10. You can use the LAN 2 port for an additional receipt printer.
  3. Plug the USB cable into the USB port on the MCW10 and the other end of the USB cable into the receipt printer. On the receipt printer, the USB port is marked as "Android 1.5A."
  4. Switch on the receipt printer.
  5. Check that the power LED and the LAN 1 LED are lit, and that the WLAN LED is blinking.
  6. In Shopify POS, tap Connectivity Icon > + Add hardware.
  7. Tap Receipt printer > Star Micronics > WiFi.
  8. Select TSP100IV.
  9. Tap Connect and then tap Done.
  10. Confirm that your printer displays as connected under Receipt Printers.
