Setting up the Star Micronics mC-Print3 Receipt Printer

You can connect the Star Micronics mC-Print3 Receipt Printer in the following ways:

USB with the Shopify POS Hub	Recommended for the most reliable setup. Compatible with iPad and Android devices.
Bluetooth	Compatible with iPad, iPhone, or Android devices. The receipt printer connects automatically whenever both devices are turned on and in range.
USB-B cable	Compatible with Android devices only.
Ethernet (LAN)	Compatible with iOS and Android devices. Plug the printer into your router with an Ethernet cable. LAN-capable printers connect to your router, not the POS Hub.
Star Micronics MCW10 Wireless LAN Device	Compatible with iPad and iPhone devices running iOS 15 or higher. Connect the printer wirelessly to your Shopify POS device through the Star Micronics MCW10 Wireless LAN Device.

Before you can use the Star Micronics mC-Print3 Receipt Printer, you need to connect your printer to the power supply.

Steps:

1. Remove the panel on the back of the printer.
2. Plug one end of the power cable into the back of your receipt printer.
3. Plug the power cable into the AC adapter.
4. Plug the other end of the AC adapter into a power outlet and turn on the printer.

If the paper is loaded, then a diagnostic report prints.

Use the Shopify POS Hub to connect the Star Micronics mC-Print3 Receipt Printer by USB to a compatible iPad or Android device.

Steps:

1. Before you connect your hardware to the Shopify POS Hub, set up the POS Hub:

   1. Plug the Shopify POS Hub power cord into a power source.
   2. Connect the Shopify POS Hub's USB-C or Lightning cable to your POS device.
   3. Plug the other end of the Shopify POS Hub's USB-C or Lightning cable into the tablet port on the bottom of the Shopify POS Hub. Don't use any other USB-C port on the Shopify POS Hub for the tablet cable.
   4. Keep Shopify POS open. Supported USB hardware that you connect to the Shopify POS Hub is added automatically in Shopify POS.

2. Connect your printer to the power supply.

3. Load the receipt paper.

4. Optional: Connect the receipt printer to a supported cash drawer using the cash drawer cable.

5. Connect the printer's USB cable to a USB port on the Shopify POS Hub.

6. After a few moments, Shopify POS automatically adds the receipt printer. If prompted by the device, then allow the printer connection.

7. Confirm that your printer displays as connected under Receipt Printers.

After connecting your printer, don't forget to:

• Set it as the default printer (optional)
• Print a test receipt
• Test the connection to the cash drawer (if applicable)

If you no longer want to use your Star Micronics mC-Print3 Receipt Printer with the Shopify POS Hub, then you can disconnect it from Shopify POS.

Steps:

1. In Shopify POS, tap the icon.
2. Tap the device that you want to remove.
3. Tap Forget receipt printer.
4. If you don't see the option, then unplug the device's USB cable from the Shopify POS Hub first, wait for it to display as Disconnected, and then try again.

To use the Star Micronics mC-Print3 Receipt Printer with Shopify POS, pair the printer with your device through Shopify POS. After the printer and device are paired, the printer connects to the device whenever both are powered on.

Steps:

1. Connect your printer to the power supply.
2. In Shopify POS, tap the icon, and then tap + Add hardware.
3. Tap Receipt printer > Star Micronics > Ethernet/LAN.
4. Select mC-Print3.
5. Tap Connect and then Done.
6. Confirm that your printer displays as connected under Receipt Printers.

After connecting your printer, don't forget to:

• Set it as the default printer (optional)
• Print a test receipt
• Test the connection to the cash drawer (if applicable)

To use the Star Micronics mC-Print3 Receipt Printer (model number MCP31LB) with Shopify POS, pair the printer with your device through Shopify POS. After the printer and device are paired, the printer connects to the device automatically whenever both are powered on and in range.

Steps:

1. In Shopify POS, tap the icon, and then tap + Add hardware.
2. Tap Receipt printer > Star Micronics > Bluetooth.
3. Select mC-Print3.
4. Turn on the printer and load the receipt paper.
5. Follow on-screen instructions on your POS device to complete pairing.
6. Confirm that your printer displays as connected under Receipt Printers.

After connecting your printer, don't forget to:

• Set it as the default printer (optional)
• Print a test receipt
• Test the connection to the cash drawer (if applicable)

To use the Star Micronics mC-Print3 Receipt Printer with Shopify POS through the Star Micronics MCW10 Wireless LAN Adapter, connect your Star Micronics MCW10 Wireless LAN Adapter to the receipt printer, and then follow the steps to connect to the Shopify POS. After the printer and device are connected, the printer connects to the device automatically whenever both are powered on and in range.

Steps:

1. Connect your printer to the power supply and connect your Star Micronics MCW10 Wireless LAN Adapter to the receipt printer.
2. From Shopify POS, tap the icon, and then tap + Add hardware.
3. Tap Receipt printer > Star Micronics > Wi-Fi.
4. Select mC-Print3.
5. Tap Connect > Done.
6. Confirm that your printer displays as connected under Receipt Printers.

After connecting your printer, don't forget to:
