Finding your Shopify Balance transactions

You can search and filter your transactions in the Shopify Balance mobile app to find a specific transaction, such as a purchase on one of your cards or a transfer that hasn't posted yet. Review the requirements for using the Shopify Balance mobile app before you start.

After you find a transaction, you can tap it to view its details.

To export your transactions for your accounting software, use your Shopify admin instead. Learn more about exporting your Shopify Balance account transactions.

Search your Shopify Balance transactions

You can search your transactions to find one by its description.

Steps:

  1. From the Shopify Balance mobile app, tap the Timeline icon.
  2. Tap the Search icon.
  3. Enter your search term, and then tap Search on your keyboard. The search field closes, and your search term is displayed on the Transactions screen.
  4. Optional: To change your search term, tap it.
  5. Optional: To return to your full list of transactions, tap the Clear search and filters icon.

If no transactions match your search term, then a Nothing found message is displayed with your search term.

Filter your Shopify Balance transactions

You can filter your transactions to display only the ones that you want to review. If you select options from more than one filter, then only the transactions that match all of those filters are displayed.

Steps:

  1. From the Shopify Balance mobile app, tap the Timeline icon.
  2. Tap the Filter icon.
  3. Tap any of the following filters, and then select your options:
    • Date range: A preset range, such as Last 7 days or Year to date, or a custom range with a start date and an end date
    • Type: The type of transaction, such as a card purchase or a transfer
    • Status: Whether the transaction is Posted, Failed, Pending, or Canceled
    • Account: The Shopify Balance or Shopify Capital account that the transaction belongs to
    • Card: The physical or virtual card that the transaction was made with, up to 3 cards
  4. Optional: To include transactions from your closed accounts or inactive cards, expand Closed accounts in the Account filter, or Inactive cards in the Card filter.
  5. Tap the Confirm icon to keep your selections for that filter and return to the list of filters. If you return to the list of filters any other way, then your selections for that filter are discarded.
  6. Repeat the previous steps for each other filter that you want to apply.
  7. Tap the Apply icon to apply your filters, or tap the Close icon to close the filters without applying your selections.
  8. Optional: To remove all of your filters and your search term, tap the Clear search and filters icon on the Transactions screen.

After you apply your filters, the name of one of your filters is displayed on the Transactions screen, along with the number of the others. When you have a search term applied as well, your search term is displayed instead, and the number of filters that you applied is displayed on the Filter icon.

If no transactions match your filters, then No transactions matching filters is displayed. Tap Clear filters to return to your full list of transactions. When you have both a search term and filters applied, this message is displayed instead of the Nothing found message.

Open your Timeline from an account or card

You can open your Timeline from an individual account or card instead of from your full list of transactions. Your transactions are displayed with a filter already applied for the account or card that you opened it from. Open Timeline is displayed only when the account or card has recent transactions.

Steps:

  1. From the Shopify Balance mobile app, tap the Wallet icon.
  2. Select the account or card that you want to review.
  3. In the Recent transactions section, tap Open Timeline.
