Customizing checkout and accounts pages for specific markets

If you have multiple markets, then you can create overrides in the checkout and accounts editor for specific international markets and B2B company location markets by modifying sections with blocks in the checkout and accounts editor in your Shopify admin.

Customize a checkout or accounts page for a market

You can use the checkout and accounts editor to customize specific customer and accounts pages for specific markets.

Steps:

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Checkout.

  2. In the Configurations section, click Edit next to the configuration that you want to customize.

  3. In the Markets menu at the top of the editor, select the market that you want to customize the checkout configuration for.

  4. In the page selector menu at the top of the editor, select the checkout or accounts page that you want to customize for the market.

  5. Apply your customizations to the checkout or accounts page.

  6. If this is your first customization to the market, then in the Market inheritance will be affected dialog, click Continue to acknowledge that the affected sections are overridden and won't inherit from the parent market.

  7. Optional: Continue making customizations to the market's checkout or accounts pages as desired.

  8. Click Save.

Reset a customization for a market

Any customization that you make to your checkout and accounts pages for a specific market can be reset to the parent market or Store default.

You can quickly identify which sections, blocks, and fields have been overridden for a specific market by checking for a Filled green diamond or Half-filled green diamond icon. These icons indicate that an override is present. Learn more about identifying market overrides in the checkout and accounts editor.

To completely reset all customizations to the checkout configuration for a market, you can delete all customizations from the market's details page.

Steps:

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Checkout.

  2. In the Configurations section, click Edit next to the configuration that you want to customize.

  3. In the Markets menu at the top of the editor, select the market that you want to reset a checkout customization for.

  4. Depending on the type of customization, do any of the following actions:

    • Next to the customized section or block, click Horizontal menu and then click Reset.
    • Click into the customized setting or block, and then click Reset.

Review and manage all customized checkout and accounts pages for a specific market

You can review all affected checkout and accounts pages for a specific market from the Customized section of the market's details page in the Shopify admin.

Steps:

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Markets.

  2. Click the market that you want to review customizations for.

  3. In the Customized section, click the Checkout & accounts configuration.

  4. The Checkout & accounts customizations section displays a list of all customized checkout and accounts pages for that market. You can do the following actions:

    • To open the customized page in the checkout and accounts editor, click the name of the page.
    • To customize an inherited page in the checkout and accounts editor, click Add customization.
    • To remove all customizations to the market's checkout and accounts configuration, click Delete customizations and then click Save.
