Requirements for using Markets
To use Markets, your store needs to meet the following requirements:
- To accept payments in multiple currencies, you need to use Shopify Payments or Adyen as your payment processor. If you use a different payment processor, then customers in all markets pay in your store's default currency.
- You need to have shipping rates configured for all countries and regions that you want to sell to. Markets can be activated only for countries and regions that have shipping rates.
Considerations for using Markets
Before you use Markets, review the following considerations:
- Fixed amount discounts can be created only in your store's default currency. The discount amount is converted to your customer's currency at checkout based on current exchange rates.
- Staff permissions can't be assigned per market. For example, if a staff member has the permission to view Orders, then they can view orders in all your store's markets.
- Only one theme can be published at a time. You can customize your theme per market, but customizations must be applied to your published theme.
- Post-purchase apps work only in your store's default currency. Post-purchase offers aren't displayed for customers in markets that use a different currency.
- Only customers from countries or regions in an active market can check out. If you want to sell to customers in a country or region, then it must be included in an active market. B2B company locations, retail locations, and sales channels only need to be included in a market if you want to customize their buying experience.
