Manage Quick Sales in the Shopify app

You can use the Shopify app to provide your Quick Sale customers with email or SMS receipts, review paid and pending Quick Sale orders, and issue refunds when required. These tools help you support customers and manage Quick Sales without needing to use Shopify POS or the Shopify admin on a desktop device.

Send an email or SMS receipt to your customer for a Quick Sale

You can send the receipt for the Quick Sale to your customer's email address or as an SMS message to your customer's phone number. By sending a receipt to a customer's email address or phone number, a customer profile is created and associated with the Quick Sale when the customer profile doesn't already exist.

You can't customize the information that displays on the receipt.

Steps:

  1. In the Shopify app, start a Quick Sale:

    1. Tap Menu, and then tap Quick Sale in the main menu.
    2. Optional: Tap the Inventory menu to select a different location for the Quick Sale.
  2. Make any customizations to your Quick Sale, such as adding products or custom amounts.

  3. Collect payment for the Quick Sale using your customer's preferred payment method.

  4. In the order confirmation screen, do any of the following actions:

    • To preview the receipt, tap the displayed receipt in the preview window. Tap X to exit the preview.
    • To send the receipt to the customer's email address, tap Email receipt.
    • To send the receipt as an SMS message to the customer's mobile device, tap Text receipt.
  5. Based on the receipt delivery method that you select, enter the customer's email address or phone number.

  6. Tap Send.

  7. Optional: Tap New sale to start a new Quick Sale.

Review the Quick Sale transation history

You can review and search your Quick Sale transaction history at any time using the Quick Sale feature. The transaction history displays only orders placed as a Quick Sale, and excludes all other orders placed through different channels.

The transaction history contains 2 tabs: Paid and Pending links. The Paid tab displays Quick Sales that have completed payments, and the Pending links tab displays Quick Sales with payment links that are awaiting payment. When a pending Quick Sale payment checks out, the Quick Sale moves to the Paid tab.

Steps:

  1. In the Shopify app, start a Quick Sale:

    1. Tap Menu, and then tap Quick Sale in the main menu.
    2. Optional: Tap the Inventory menu to select a different location for the Quick Sale.
  2. Tap More Actions > Transactions.

  3. Select the type of Quick Sale history that you want to access:

    • To display the transaction history of completed Quick Sales, tap Paid.
    • To display the transaction history of Quick Sales with payments pending, tap Pending links.
  4. Optional: Tap an order to review the order's details. You can also do any of the following actions for a paid order:

Issue a refund for a Quick Sale

You can issue a refund for the total amount or a partial amount of the original order using the Quick Sale feature. Refunds for Quick Sales are simplified versions of the refund process for online stores, as they omit the option to refund shipping or tax and duties charges specifically. You also can't refund to a gift card or to store credit during a Quick Sale.

After an item is refunded, you can't start a return for it. Learn more about returns and exchanges.
