Virtual shopping experiences

You can connect with customers directly through virtual shopping appointments, live social media broadcasts, and product posts. These formats let you personalize the shopping experience, answer questions in real time, and reach customers wherever they are.

Sell through live video

You can sell directly to customers through live and shoppable video content on platforms connected to Shopify. When customers watch your live or video content, they can browse and purchase your products without leaving the platform.

You can use the following sales channels or social media tools for shoppable video content:

  • TikTok Shop: When you go live on TikTok, viewers can browse and purchase your products directly from the LIVE. You can also create shoppable in-feed videos and list products on your TikTok profile.
  • YouTube Shopping: Tag products in your YouTube videos so that viewers can purchase without leaving YouTube. Available through the Google & YouTube sales channel.
  • Facebook and Instagram Live: Go live on Facebook or Instagram to showcase products, announce promotions, and answer customer questions in real time. For more information about Instagram Live, refer to the Instagram Help Center.

Use shoppable posts and Stories

Instagram Shopping lets you tag products in posts and Stories so that customers can purchase directly without leaving Instagram. Set it up through the Facebook and Instagram by Meta sales channel.

You can also use posts and Stories on Facebook and Instagram to draw attention to new arrivals or active promotions and respond to customer comments to build community around your store.

Book virtual shopping appointments

You can offer one-on-one video appointments for customers who want personalized help choosing products. During an appointment, you can discuss product details, answer questions, and help customers find what they're looking for. You can use an appointment booking app from the Shopify App Store to let customers book appointments.

For example, if you sell sports and athletic wear, then your customers could book an appointment to discuss the fit or specific details of a product. Speaking to your customers about their needs can also help you recommend a product that better suits them.

During the appointment, you can create a draft order to track what your customer has decided to purchase. After the appointment ends, email the invoice to your customer so that they can complete payment.
