Considerations for selling on Whatnot with Shopify

Before you set up the Whatnot sales channel, refer to the Whatnot Terms of Service and Whatnot Privacy Policy, and also review the following considerations for selling on Whatnot with Shopify:

  • Whatnot charges 8% commission on your sales, although the fee might be lower depending on your region and the category of the product that's sold. You're also charged a payment processing fee of 2.9% + $0.30 USD, which might also vary depending on your region. The payment processing fee is applied to the order subtotal, tax, and shipping price that's paid by your customer. Payment processing fees don't apply to any international shipping costs or taxes. For more information, refer to Whatnot seller fees on the Whatnot help center.
  • If a customer buys an item during a Whatnot live show, then their purchase is created as a draft order in your Shopify admin. When a live show ends, all draft orders become full orders automatically. To manually convert a draft order into a full order, you can click Complete All Draft Orders in the Orders section of the Whatnot sales channel.
  • Whatnot uses whole-currency amounts. By default, your prices are rounded down, for example, a product that you sync to Whatnot with a price of $2.53 USD is displayed with a price of $2 USD. You can choose to have your Whatnot prices rounded up, so that the $2.53 USD product is displayed on Whatnot with a price of $3.
  • In most cases, you need to generate and print a Whatnot shipping label, unless you're approved to use the Bring Your Own Label feature.
