Setting up your store
Depending on how many products you plan to offer, adding and organizing your product listings can be the most time-consuming step of setting up a Shopify store. Organizing your store is worth the work, though: a well organized store is easier for your customers to use, helping them to find the products they want quickly.

Organize your products into collections
You can create collections to organize your products, making them easier for your customers to find. For example, you can create the following kinds of collections:
- Clothes for men, women, or children.
- Items of a certain type, such as lamps, cushions, or rugs.
- Items that are on sale.
- Items in a certain size or color.
- Seasonal products, such as holiday cards and decorations.
- Variant collections, such as only red products for Valentine's Day.
- Multi-source collections, such as an existing collection of all your coffee beans products combined with all your products that are tagged with
mug.
You can create a collection from one or more sources, using either your main product list, product variants, other existing collections, or app sources. Product and variant sources can include products or variants that match conditions that you set, or that you add manually. Learn more about creating collections and adding products.
