Shipping insurance with Managed Markets

Shipping insurance helps protect your Managed Markets shipments against loss or damage during transit. The type and amount of insurance coverage available depends on your Shopify plan and the shipping service you use. Review the requirements and coverage details to ensure your shipments are eligible for insurance and to understand how to submit a claim if needed.

Shipping insurance with Managed Markets

If you use Managed Markets and your store is on the Grow, Advanced, or Plus plan, then your labels for Managed Markets orders also include up to $200 USD of shipping insurance. If you use Managed Markets and your store is on the Basic plan, then insurance isn't included, but you can purchase insurance for your orders.

You need to meet the following requirements to be eligible for shipping insurance:

When you purchase a shipping label, the included shipping insurance displays in the SHIPPING INSURANCE section. If your order's value is over $200 USD, then you can purchase insurance for the full shipment value or add a custom amount, up to $5,000 USD. Shipping coverage for shipments with Managed Markets

If a Managed Markets shipment is lost or damaged, then submit a shipping claim in the Shopify admin.

DHL eCommerceDHL eCommerce claims must be submitted within 90 days from the date DHL eCommerce first scans the package at one of their distribution centers. If a package arrives damaged, then you can submit a claim immediately regardless of the shipping service. DHL eCommerce packages are only eligible for a lost claim after 45 days (or 60 days, for packages to Italy) have passed from being accepted by the carrier.

Insurance is included when you purchase a shipping label through DHL eCommerce. Shipping services that include insurance coverage cover a maximum of $100 USD of combined product value and shipping label cost.
DHL Express WorldwideYou should submit your claim as soon as you discover that a package was lost or damaged.

DHL Express claims must be submitted within 25 days after the package is picked up.

UPSYou should submit your claim as soon as you discover that a package was lost or damaged.

UPS must receive notice of a claim within 60 days from delivery of the package or, in case of a lost package, within 60 days from the scheduled delivery date.
Insurance is included when you purchase a shipping label from UPS. Shipping services that include insurance coverage cover a maximum of $100 USD of product value in addition to the cost of the shipping label.
FedExYou should submit your claim as soon as you discover that a package was lost or damaged.

For concealed damage claims, FedEx must receive notice of a claim within 21 days from delivery of package. For all other claims, FedEx must be notified within 9 months.
Insurance is included when you purchase a shipping label from FedEx. Shipping services that include insurance coverage cover a maximum of $100 USD of product value.

Include the following information in your claim:

  • the receiver's phone number
  • a screenshot that displays messages from your customer confirming loss or damage of package

For damaged packages, you also need to include the following information:

  • a description of the damage
  • photos of the damaged package and products
