Partner organization permissions
Permissions grant or restrict access to specific areas of your Partner organization, merchant organization, or merchant store for a specific context. You can assign permissions to roles to grant a user granular levels of access based on the role category. The following types of permissions are available, depending on pricing plans and sales channels:
- Store-level permissions apply to roles with the Store role category.
- Organization permissions for users in your Partner organization for stores and app development.
- Partner permissions for your staff members related to marketing and referrals, finances, and distribution.
Organization permissions for Partner organizations
You can assign the following Organization-level permissions to users in your Partner organization.

| Stores | Create, and manage development stores | This permission allows users to create, view, manage, and delete development stores in the Partner organization. |
| Client transfer stores | This permission allows users to create client transfer stores in the Partner organization. Access to a client transfer store is granted automatically only for the stores that a user creates. To view or manage an existing client transfer store, a user must first be added to that store. | |
| Transfer client transfer stores | This permission allows users to transfer client transfer stores to merchants. | |
| Collaborator relationships | This permission allows users to create and manage collaborator relationships with merchant stores. | |
| App development | Build and manage apps | This permission allows users to develop and manage apps in the Partner organization. |
Partner permissions
You can assign the following Partner permissions to a users in your Partner organizations.

| View app ads | This permission allows users to view the ad reporting dashboard. | |
| Manage app ads | This permission allows users to create and make changes to Shopify App Store ad. | |
| Finance | View financials | This permission allows users to view and edit payout information on the Settings page, and view the Ad billing page. Account owners can access these pages by default. |
| Manage credits and refunds | This permission allows users to send app credits or create refunds. To create refunds, staff members also need the View financials and the Manage apps permissions. Account owners can create refunds and send app credits by default. | |
| Distribution | Submit and manage partner directory listings | This permission allows users to submit and manage your listings on the Partner Directory |
| Submit apps | This permission allows users to submit apps for the Shopify App Store. | |
