Exporting your user management information as a CSV file
You can export your list of users, roles, groups, and user activity logs as a CSV file. Exporting user management data can help you maintain records, conduct security audits, and track account activity across your organization. Exporting this information about your organization can be a requirement when performing internal or security audits.
You can export your user management data at any time from your Shopify admin. Links to the CSV files are sent to your email address, and you must log in to your Shopify account to download the files. For security purposes, you must be the organization owner or an organization administrator to access the exported CSV files.
Links to download the CSV files expire after 7 days.
To create, suspend, or reactivate users in bulk, you can import users using a CSV file.

Export your user list as a CSV file
You can export your list of users as a CSV file. Links to CSV files are sent to your email address, and you must be logged in to your Shopify account to download the files.
The user CSV file contains the following information about each of your users:
| CSV column | Definition |

| ID | User ID, which is the number that displays in the browser URL when accessing their user profile in your Shopify admin. |
| USER_TYPE | User type, indicating an admin user, retail staff, or collaborator. |
| User's login email. | |
| PHONE | User's phone number. |
| GIVEN_NAME | User's first name. |
| FAMILY_NAME | User's last name. |
| CREATED_AT | The date and time the user's account was created. |
| STATUS | User account status, such as Active or Pending. |
| TFA_ENFORCED | User's 2FA activation status. Values are either TRUE when active, or FALSE when inactive. |
| ROLE_NAME | The name of the role assigned to the user. |
| ROLE_CATEGORY | The category of role assigned to the user. |
| GROUP_NAME | The group assigned to the user. |
| STORE_NAME | The store that the user can access. |
| ADDED_AT | The date and time that a role or a store was assigned to the user's account. |
Users that are assigned multiple roles or multiple stores display in multiple rows in the CSV export, with 1 row per role and store assignment. Fields without applicable information are left blank, such as when a user doesn't have an assigned role or group.
Steps:
From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Users.
Click Export.
In the Export users dialog, click Export.
When the CSV arrives in your email inbox, click Download file to download the CSV file to your device. The option to download the file expires after 7 days.
Export your roles list as a CSV file
You can export your list of roles as a CSV file. Links to CSV files are sent to your email address, and you must be logged in to your Shopify account to download the files.
The roles CSV file contains the following information about each of your roles:

| NAME | The name of the role. |
| CATEGORY | The category of the role. |
| CREATED_AT | The date and time the role was created. |
| PERMISSION | Permissions in the role, including permissions for individual apps. If a role contains multiple permissions and apps, then this value displays in multiple rows. |

| ADDED_AT | The date and time that a permission was assigned to a role. |
Roles with multiple permissions display in multiple rows in the CSV export, with 1 row per permission or app. Fields without applicable information are left blank.
Steps:
From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Users.
Click Roles.
Click Export.
In the Export roles dialog, click Export.
When the CSV arrives in your email inbox, click Download file to download the CSV file to your device. The option to download the file expires after 7 days.
Export your groups as a CSV file
You can export your list of groups as a CSV file. Links to CSV files are sent to your email address, and you must be logged in to your Shopify account to download the files.
The group CSV file contains the following information about each of your groups:

Click Export.
In the Export groups dialog, click Export.

Export your user activity logs as a CSV file
You can export your user activity logs as a CSV file. Links to CSV files are sent to your email address, and you must be logged in to your Shopify account to download the files.
The user activity log CSV file contains the following information about each of your events:

| RESOURCE_TYPE | The resource type that the event impacts. For example, a resource type might be User when the event is inviting a new staff member. |
| RESOURCE_NAME | The name of the resource being impacted by the event. For example, "Maria Perez" was the invited User. |
| EVENT | The description of the main event. For example: "John Smith was edited." |
| EVENT_TYPE | The action taken during the event. This can include values such as Create or Edit. |
| CREATED_AT | The date and time the event was created. |
| ACTOR | The name of the user or system that performed the event. |
| EVENT_DETAIL | A description of the specific details as part of the main event. For example: "A customer support role was assigned to John Smith in Store A. A marketer role was assigned to John Smith in Store B." |
Steps:
From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Users.
Click Security, and then in the User activity logs section, click View.
Click Export.
In the Export activity logs dialog, click Export.
User activity log exports can take awhile. When the CSV arrives in your email inbox, click Download file to download the CSV file to your device. The option to download the file expires after 7 days.
