The Remove product variant metafield action removes metafields from the product variant that triggers the workflow.

Fields
The Remove product variant metafield action contains the following fields.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Metafield | Required. This dropdown selects a metafield by name or by namespace and key. |
| Namespace | Required when selecting an unstructured metafield. A namespace is a container for a group of metafield definitions. Grouping metafields within a namespace prevents your metafields from conflicting with other metafields. |
| Key | Required when selecting an unstructured metafield. A key is an identifier for the metafield definition. |
Triggers
The Remove product variant metafield action has hidden fields added to it by the trigger. These fields, Product ID and Product variant ID, identify the product and product variant to remove metafields from. The product ID and product variant ID are set by default and can't be changed.
The Remove product variant metafield action can be used in workflows that start with the following triggers:
- Inventory item created
- Inventory item deleted
- Inventory quantity changed
- Product variant added
- Product variant deleted
