Organizing and searching workflows in Shopify Flow

You can organize your Shopify Flow workflows using tags and descriptive names. This makes it easier to manage, group, and find your automations as your business grows. You can also search and filter your workflows to quickly update your workflow list.

Create tags for your workflows in Shopify Flow

You can create tags in any Shopify Flow workflow. When you create a tag, it's automatically applied to the current workflow.

You can apply the tag to other workflows to help you filter your workflow list. For example, if you create workflows for Black Friday Cyber Monday (BFCM), then you can create a BFCM tag and apply it to all related workflows to quickly find and deactivate them when BFCM ends.

You need to apply a tag to at least 1 workflow to keep the tag available. If you remove a tag from all workflows, then the tag is automatically deleted.

Steps:

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Apps > Flow.

  2. Click the workflow that you want to create a tag for.

  3. Click More actions > Manage tags.

  4. In the Add tags field, enter the tag that you want to create, and then click Add.

  5. Optional: If you want to create multiple new tags, then enter the next tag that you want to create, and then click Add. Repeat for as many tags that you want to create.

Apply or remove tags on a workflow in Shopify Flow

You can apply or remove existing tags on a workflow in Shopify Flow.

You need to apply a tag to at least 1 workflow to keep the tag available. If you remove a tag from all workflows, then the tag is automatically deleted.

Steps:

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Apps > Flow.

  2. Click the workflow that you want to manage tags for.

  3. Click More actions > Manage tags.

  4. In the Manage tags dialog, do any of the following actions:

    • Optional: To create a new tag, enter the new tag in the Add tags field.
    • To apply an existing tag to the workflow, select any of the tags in the Available list.
    • To remove a tag from the workflow, deselect any of the tags in the Selected list.

You can search your workflow list using keywords that match workflow name elements to help refine the items that are included in your view.

Steps:

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Apps > Flow.

  2. Click the searchFilter icon.

  3. In the search bar, type in your workflow name keywords.

  4. Optional: Apply filters to your workflow search to further refine your results.

Apply filters to your workflow list in Shopify Flow

You can filter your workflow list to help refine the items that are included in your view. Shopify Flow supports the following types of filters:

  • Tags: Filter your workflow list by the tags that you create.
  • Activation status: Filter your workflow list by workflow status, such as Active or Inactive.

Steps:

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Apps > Flow.

  2. Click the searchFilter icon.

  3. Click Add filter +.

  4. Select the filter type that you want to use, and then select the value that you want to filter for.

  5. Optional: Continue selecting filter categories and values to apply multiple filters to your view.

  6. Optional: To search within the filtered results, include some workflow name keywords.
