Customize your POS smart grid templates
You can create and manage multiple smart grid layouts in the Shopify admin using smart grid templates. This is useful for when you want multiple POS locations to have the same smart grid layout, and want to save time from having to customize the smart grid for each location manually from the Shopify POS app.
You can create multiple smart grid templates using the POS editor, and assign each template to specific locations.
You can edit each smart grid template using the POS editor in the following ways:
- Add, rearrange, or remove tile pages.
- Add, edit, rearrange, recolor, or remove tiles from a tile page.
- Switch between previewing the Shopify POS app on a tablet or a smartphone view.
- Switch between previewing the Shopify POS app in dark mode or light mode.
One smart grid template is assigned as the Default template, and applies to all new POS locations and POS locations when their assigned template is deleted. You can change which template is the default at any time.
