Review the following sections to troubleshoot payment problems with Shopify POS.
Payment type isn't accepted
If a payment type isn't working, then confirm that it's activated in your Shopify POS settings.
Steps:
- From Shopify POS, tap
> Settings > Payments.
- Review the payment types displayed.
- Confirm that the payment method you want to use displays as Accepted.
Shopify Payments issues
If you experience issues with Shopify Payments, then confirm the following:
- Your store meets all regional requirements.
- The Shopify Payments setup is complete.
- Your charges aren't on hold.
- Test mode is deactivated.
Payment limitations for existing orders
Some payment methods aren't available when collecting payment for existing orders. Local and offsite payment methods can't be used when the order payment includes a shipping line. Store credit can be applied to eligible order payments when the customer has an applicable store credit balance and staff have permission to redeem store credit.
Testing Shopify Payments with card readers
Some card readers don't pair when Shopify Payments is in test mode. To use card readers for test payments, deactivate test mode on Shopify Payments and complete a full transaction.
