Marketing automation metrics and reporting

You can access key metrics and automation reports for your active automations to understand their impact on your business and to improve or experiment with your configurations.

Key metrics for marketing automations

You can view key metrics about your marketing automations on the Automations page of the Shopify Messaging app. To view metrics for a specific automation, you can click the title of the marketing automation that you want to review.

The following metrics are provided about your marketing automations:

MetricDescription
ReachThe total number of impressions for all marketing activities used in marketing automations. For example, for an email automation, this is the number of email sends.
SessionsThe total number of sessions on your online store that are attributed to marketing automations.
OrdersThe total number of orders that are attributed to marketing automations.
Conversion rateThe percentage of sales attributed to each marketing activity that resulted in an order.
SalesThe net sales (gross sales minus discounts and sales reversals), plus taxes and shipping, that are attributed to marketing activities from within the marketing automation.

View reports for individual marketing automations

You can view a marketing activities report for each of your marketing automations. This report includes detailed information about the marketing activities within your automations, such as conversion rates and top orders by sales.

Steps:

Desktop
  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Apps > Messaging.

  2. Click Automations.

  3. In the Automations section, click the automation that you want to view the report for.

  4. In the activity index, click Horizontal menu, and then click View report.

Mobile
  1. From the Shopify app, tap the Menu icon.

  2. In the Apps section, tap Messaging.

  3. Tap Messaging > Automations.

  4. Tap the automation that you want to view the report for.

  5. On the Automations page, tap the automation to view its analytics.
