Viewing and searching your inventory transfers

You can view, search, sort, and filter your transfers on the Transfers page. You can also display, hide, and reorder inventory transfer columns. A list of 50 transfers are included on each page.

Filtering inventory transfers

You can filter your transfers on the Transfers page of your Shopify admin. Filtering your transfers list can help you find the specific transfer that you need to review, update, or cancel.

All filters display in-line in the search bar, so you get a full view of the criteria influencing your search results. You can also use is/is not and or/and logical operators to create more advanced views with specific filter criteria.

Inventory transfers filters

By default, all your transfers are listed on the Transfers page of your Shopify admin. You can filter this list to display a smaller subset of transfers.

Review the following table to learn more about the available inventory transfer filters.

Filter inventory transfers

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Products > Transfers.

  2. Optional: Click All to open the view menu, and then select the view that you want to filter.

  3. Select an operator and value for your filter. The available values are different depending on the filter that you select.

  4. Optional: Continue typing keywords to continue adding different filters and values to refine your search:

    • To include an additional filter with an and operator to your search, click Plus Circle Icon or add a space, and then start typing the name of the additional filter that you want to include.
    • To include an additional value with an or operator to a filter, add a comma, and then start typing the name of the additional value that you want to include.
  5. Optional: Click the filter tags of any filter in the search bar to edit the filter.

  6. Optional: To save your current sequence of filters as a new view, click Save > Save as new view.

Searching for a transfer

You can search for transfers based on words in the transfer details, such as transfer number, origin name, notes, destination location name, or transferred products. To search, use the search bar on the Transfers page to enter the specific search terms.

Saving a transfers search or filtered transfers list as a view

When you filter or search for transfers, you can save the filter or search as a new view to use it again later.

Steps:

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Products > Transfers.

  2. Customize the list items that display in your default All view by searching, adding filters, or editing the included columns when applicable.

  3. Click Save.

  4. In the Save view as dialog, give your new view a name.

  5. Click Save.

Customizing your transfers page using columns

You can customize your Transfers page by choosing which columns you want to display or hide. For example, you can hide the Tags column, if you don't use tags in your transfers. You can't edit the Transfer column.

By default, all transfers columns are listed on the Transfers page of your Shopify admin. You can choose to display, hide, and reorder columns.

ReceivedDisplays the received item quantities in a transfer. Hover to access a popover menu that displays more information about the transfer, such as shipments, tracking information, products, and shipment status.
Created byDisplays the staff member who created a transfer.
Expected arrivalDisplays the expected arrival date for a transfer.
TagsDisplays the tags that are used in a transfer.
SourceDisplays the source where the transfer is coming from, such as a third-party app. Transfers that you create using third-party apps are displayed in this column together with the app name.
Created dateDisplays the date when you created the transfer.
Reference numberDisplays the reference that you add to a transfer.
ShipmentsDisplays the number of shipments in a transfer.

Adjust inventory transfer columns

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Products > Transfers.

  2. Optional: Click All to open the view menu, and then select the custom view that you want to edit the columns for.

  3. Click the Layout Columns 3 icon to open the display option panel.

  4. In the Columns section, customize your view's columns by doing any of the following actions:

    • To hide a column, click View.
    • To unhide a column, click Hide.
    • To rearrange a column, click Drag handle, and then drag the column up or down.
  5. Optional: To permanently apply the column order to your custom view, click Save > Update view.

Sorting inventory transfers

You can sort your inventory transfers listed on the Transfers page of your Shopify admin. You can choose from different sort options.

By default, files are listed from newest to oldest based on the date that they were uploaded.

You can change the sort order of your transfers list to any of the following options:

OriginSorted alphabetically from A-Z or Z-A.This option displays transfers by their location of origin in alphabetical order.
DestinationSorted alphabetically from A-Z or Z-A.This option displays transfers by their destination location in alphabetical order.
StatusSorted by status from Ascending or Descending.This option displays transfers by status. A transfer can have any of the following statuses, listed by ascending order:
  • Draft
  • Ready to ship
  • In progress
  • Transferred
  • Canceled

Sort your inventory transfers

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Products > Transfers.

  2. Optional: Click All to open the view menu, and then select the custom view that you want to review the sort order for.

  3. Click the Layout Columns 3 icon to open the display option panel.

  4. Click the Sort Sort by menu, and then select a sort criteria option, as well as a sort order.

  5. Optional: To permanently apply the column order to your custom view, click Save > Update view.
