Payouts with Shopify Payments in the United States

You can receive payouts in USD when you use Shopify Payments in the United States. Payouts typically arrive in your bank account within 2 to 5 business days after a customer's payment is captured, depending on your settlement time and bank processing speed. You can view payout schedules, check payment rates for your plan, and review payout history from your Shopify admin.

Settlement times for Shopify Payments in the United States

Settlement time refers to the amount of time between the moment that a customer's payment is captured and when those funds are available to be sent to your bank account. The timestamp for capturing a customer's payment is recorded in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). Payments captured on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are consolidated and sent as a single payout.

Your payments and payouts are processed through multiple payment processing partners for greater reliability. If you set a payout schedule, then you might receive some payouts sooner than the scheduled payout date, and more than one payout per day. You can view your upcoming payout dates in the payouts section of your Shopify Payments page.

There is no minimum payout amount for Shopify Payments in the United States. All payouts, regardless of amount, are processed according to your payout schedule.

In the United States, the minimum settlement time is 2 to 5 business days. When you begin receiving payouts, your settlement time is longer, but as you reliably fulfill orders on time, your settlement time can decrease to match the minimum settlement time for your region. Fees for using Shopify Payments in the United States

Receiving payouts in multiple currencies with Shopify Payments in the United States

If you're using Shopify Payments in the United States, then your default payout currency must be USD, but you can add bank accounts in international currencies to receive payouts in that currency. Review the following considerations for Multi-Currency Payout fees and currency exchange fees:

• USD is always the default payout currency for US merchants and can't be changed to another currency, so payouts to your USD bank account aren't charged a Multi-Currency Payout fee.
• If you set up additional bank accounts in non-USD currencies, then Multi-Currency Payout fees apply based on your Shopify plan.
• If orders are placed in a currency that doesn't have a bank account set up in your Shopify Payments account, then the payout is sent to your USD bank account.
• If a payout is sent to a non-USD bank account, then a Multi-Currency Payout fee applies.
