Connecting your bank account to Shopify Payments in the United States
If you want to use Shopify Payments, then you must connect a bank account to receive your payouts.
Plaid is a secure service that lets you connect your bank account to Shopify Payments to receive payouts. Connecting your bank account with Plaid helps verify your banking details. If your bank isn't available through Plaid, or you can't connect with Plaid, then you can enter your bank account details manually.

Connect your bank account with Plaid
When you activate Shopify Payments, you can connect your bank account using Plaid. If you've already connected your bank account to your Shopify account, then you can verify your connected bank account with Plaid.
From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Payments.
In the Shopify Payments section, click Activate Shopify Payments.
In the Submit information about your business section, click Submit details.
Select your business type and enter the required details, and then click Continue account setup.
In the Secure your account with two-step authentication section, click Turn on two-step.
Enter a phone number and complete setting up two-step authentication, and then click Turn on.
In the Add your banking information section, click Add bank account.
Click Connect using your login info, and then click Continue.
Select your banking institution, and then click Continue.
Sign into your bank with your online banking credentials, and then click the bank account that you want to connect to Shopify Payments.
Select the agree to the terms and conditions checkbox, and then click Connect account information.
Connect your bank account manually
If your bank isn't available through Plaid, or you can't connect your bank account with Plaid, then you can enter your bank account details manually.
Steps:
From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Payments.
In the Shopify Payments section, click Activate Shopify Payments.
In the Submit information about your business section, click Submit details.
Select your business type and enter the required details, and then click Continue account setup.
In the Secure your account with two-step authentication section, click Turn on two-step.
Enter a phone number and complete setting up two-step authentication, and then click Turn on.
In the Add your banking information section, click Add bank account.
Click Enter account details manually.
Enter your Account owner name, Routing number, and Account number.
Review and agree to the bank debit authorization, and then click Save.
Verify a connected bank account with Plaid
If you've already connected your bank account to Shopify Payments manually, then you can verify your bank account with Plaid.
Steps:
From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Payments.
In the Shopify Payments section, click Manage.
In the Payout details section, click Change bank account.
In the Replace account page, click Connect using your login info to verify your bank account with Plaid.
Select your banking institution, and then click Continue.
Sign into your bank with your online banking credentials, and then click the bank account that you want to connect to Shopify Payments.
Select the agree to the terms and conditions checkbox, and then click Connect account information.
If you can't connect your bank account with Plaid, then you can click Enter account details manually and enter your Account owner name, Routing number, and Account number.
