Manage Shop reminders triggered by storefront activity
When this setting is turned on, Shop can recognize eligible Shop users who visit your online store, including users who are anonymous to you, and send them email and push reminders about products they browsed or carts they abandoned on your storefront.
Shop users who view your products in the Shop app can already receive email and push reminders to buy. This setting extends those reminders to include activity from your online store, helping you turn storefront visits into sales.
Shop reminders triggered by storefront activity are separate from the abandoned checkout automations and other marketing automations that you set up for your online store. You can't customize the content or timing of these Shop reminders in your Shopify admin.
If you don't want Shop to send reminders triggered by buyer activity on your online store, then you can turn them off in the Shop channel settings.
Steps:
From your Shopify admin, go to Sales channels > Shop.
Click Settings.
In the Marketing section, turn off Shop remarketing emails and push notifications.
You can turn Shop reminders triggered by storefront activity back on at any time from the same setting.
Search engine indexing
You can control whether search engines index your Shop.app content and include your pages on search engine results pages, such as Google and Bing. When search engine indexing is active, customers can find your Shop.app pages in search results which can help them discover your store.
By default, search engine indexing is activated for your Shop.app pages.
Deactivate search engine indexing
If you don't want your Shop.app pages in search engine results, then you can deactivate search engine indexing. Search engines need to recrawl your pages before removing them from results. Recrawling your pages can take several days to a few weeks.
Steps:
From your Shopify admin, go to Sales channels > Shop.
Click Settings.
In the Search engine indexing section, click Disable.
Reactivate search engine indexing
If you've deactivated search engine indexing, then you can reactivate it at any time so that customers can find your Shop.app pages in search results.
Steps:
From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Sales channels.
Click Shop.
Click Open sales channel.
Click Settings.
In the Search engine indexing section, click Enable.
Compatibility with Online Store visibility
Shop respects your Online Store product's search engine visibility settings. If you set a product's status to unlisted or use the seo.hidden metafield to hide it from search, then its Shop.app page isn't displayed in search engine results. Learn more about publishing products to the Shop channel.
Opt in or out of Shop marketing campaigns
By default, your store is opted in to being featured in Shop marketing campaigns. You can opt out of being featured in Shop marketing campaigns at any time.
After you opt out, allow 5-7 days for changes to go into effect.
Steps:
From your Shopify admin, go to Sales channels > Shop.
