Edit your Shop URL
By default, you're given a Shopify-generated Shop URL. You can change your Shop URL only one time every 30 days. After you change the Shop URL, your previously created URL redirects to the current URL for 30 days. Shopify-generated Shop URLs always redirect to your current Shop URL.
Your Shop URL must be between 4 and 30 characters with the following rules:
- You can use only letters, numbers, hyphens, and underscores.
- Your Shop URL must start with a letter or number.
- You can't use profanity according to the Shop Content Policies.
- The Shop URL can't be used currently or recently by any other Shop user.
In rare cases, Shopify might need to modify your URL on your behalf. You receive an email notification of this change.
Steps:
From your Shopify admin, go to Sales channels > Shop.
In the Store section, click Edit details.
Click Change Shop URL. If you updated your Shop URL in the last 30 days, then Editing is unavailable displays with the date that you can edit the Shop URL again.
Enter the Shop URL. If your Shop URL doesn't meet the rules, then an error message displays with the reason. If the Shop URL is in use or recently used, then This URL is unavailable displays, and you need to enter a different Shop URL.
Click Save.
