Editing discounts in an order
You can edit your order to add, adjust, or remove a discount from an item in an order, and you can manage discounts for both fulfilled and unfulfilled items. Editing discounts after an order is placed can help you accommodate customer requests, fix pricing errors, or apply promotional offers.
When you edit an order, the order total is updated to reflect these changes and the order displays whether a refund is owed to the customer or a balance is owed to you. Depending on the adjustment to your order, you might need to issue a refund or collect payment from your customer.
You can also apply a discount to a line item directly from the refund page without navigating to the order editing flow.
Before you edit an order, review the considerations for editing orders, including discount editing limitations.

Add a discount to an item in an order
You can add a discount to individual fulfilled and unfulfilled items in an order.
If you have multiple quantities of the same item in a single line, then you can apply one discount to the entire line item. If the items are listed as separate line items, then you need to add a separate discount to each line item individually.
If a line item is partially fulfilled, then you can't add a discount to that item. For example, if quantity 1 is unfulfilled, and quantity 2 is fulfilled, but they come from the same line item, then you can't add a discount to either quantity.
