Shipping with Chronopost
If you're shipping from a location in France, then you can buy shipping labels from Chronopost. You can ship your products from a Chronopost drop-off location to your customer's address in France, to a Chronopost pickup point, or to destinations outside France. The shipping rates that you are charged are based on Shopify's account with Chronopost.

Considerations for shipping packages with Chronopost
Review the following considerations when shipping with Chronopost:
- You can ship domestically within France, to Chronopost pickup points in France, to European destinations with Chronopost Classic, and worldwide with Chronopost Express.
- You can't schedule pickups with Chronopost to collect your shipments in Shopify.
- To purchase Chronopost shipping labels, you must have a fulfillment location based in France.
- The Chronopost integration supports only label purchases. There are no carrier calculated rates available for checkout.
Getting your products to Chronopost
You can drop off your products at a Chronopost drop-off location. Find your nearest Chronopost drop-off location.
Domestic shipping with Chronopost

Chronopost pickup points
To deliver to a pickup point with Chronopost, you must first set up shipping to a pickup point.
After you've selected which locations can deliver to a pickup point and edited your rates, your customers can choose Ship to pickup point as their delivery method, and then select the pickup point where they want their order delivered.
After the shipment is delivered to a pickup point, your customer receives an SMS or an email notification that their shipment is ready for pickup.

International shipping with Chronopost

Chronopost international destinations
Chronopost Classic delivers to 27 European destinations: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. It also delivers to Andorra, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland. Customs requirements apply to every destination outside the European Union, including the United Kingdom.
Chronopost Express delivers to over 220 destinations worldwide, including Europe, the Americas, Africa, the Middle East, Asia-Pacific, and French overseas territories.
Package requirements for Chronopost shipments
Only Box packaging is supported. Envelopes and Soft Packs are not supported.
Maximum values differ by shipping service. Shipments to a Chronopost pickup point have lower limits than shipments to an address.
Length plus girth is calculated as length + (2 × width) + (2 × height).

The following are the minimum values that Chronopost allows for Chronopost 13, Chronopost 18, and Chronopost Relais FR:
- 30.1 cm (11.85 inches) in length
- 21.1 cm (8.3 inches) in width
- 3.1 cm (1.22 inches) in height
- 201 g (0.44 lb) in weight
Submitting shipping claims for Chronopost shipments
If you're using Chronopost through Shopify and your Chronopost shipment is lost or damaged, then you can submit a shipping claim with Shopify Support. Claims for late delivery are available only for Chronopost 13 and Chronopost 18.
Included carrier coverage for Chronopost shipments
Chronopost offers coverage for lost and damaged packages of €23 EUR per kilogram, up to a maximum of €250 EUR per package.
The Chronopost 18 shipping service, as well as any packages that contain cell phone items, offer coverage of €23 EUR per kilogram, up to a maximum of €690 EUR per package.
Submit a shipping claim for a lost or damaged Chronopost shipment
You can submit a claim for lost or damaged Chronopost shipments within the following time limits:
- Claims for lost shipments need to be submitted within 30 days from the date of dispatch.
- Claims for damaged shipments need to be submitted within 3 calendar days from the delivery date.
To initiate a shipping claim with Chronopost, submit a shipping claim in the Shopify admin.
Include the following documents in your claim:
- a cost invoice showing the value of the contents
- a completed and signed subrogation letter (download the lettre de subrogation template)
- a completed loss or damage claim letter (download the lettre de réclamation template), with the value of the contents stated excluding VAT and shipping costs
The cost invoice must conform to the following guidelines:
- the date on the invoice is before or the same as the date of the shipment
- written on a company letterhead
- includes a description of the contents, such as the type and number of items in the claim
- includes the wholesale value and amount, or the VAT rate and currency unit
If your shipment is damaged, then you must also provide the following photos:
- photos of the outside of the package with the label on the package
- photos of the inside of the package
- photos of the damaged items
Submit a shipping claim for a late Chronopost shipment
Chronopost 13 and Chronopost 18 are guaranteed services with fixed next-day transit times. If your Chronopost 13 or Chronopost 18 shipment fails to deliver the next business day, then the carrier will reimburse 50% of the label cost. To be eligible, you must submit a claim within 1 calendar day of delivery.
Chronopost Classic and Chronopost Express aren't guaranteed services. Their transit times are estimates, and late delivery claims aren't available for them.
To initiate a shipping claim with Chronopost, submit a shipping claim in the Shopify admin.
Include a reason for the refund request in your claim. Packages that exceed the maximum size and weight requirements aren't eligible for a refund in the event of a late package.
Requesting support for Chronopost shipments
If you're using Chronopost through Shopify and you need help, then you can contact Shopify Support.
Rerouting a Chronopost shipment
You can request a shipment reroute only if the package isn't in transit or delivered. To reroute your shipment, you need to contact Shopify Support and provide the following information:
- tracking number
- the new delivery address
Your customers receive an email or a SMS about the scheduled delivery and then they can reroute or reschedule the delivery of the shipment. There are no additional charges for you or your customers for this service.
Disputing an adjustment for a Chronopost shipment
If you're incorrectly charged an adjustment, such as an adjustment for an incorrect shipment weight or oversized package, then you can dispute the adjustment.
When you contact Shopify Support, make sure to provide the following information:
- tracking number
- reason for the dispute
- any supporting documents or images, such as one that displays the measurement of a package
