Shopify Balance cashback rewards
The Shopify Balance account offers a number of rewards on eligible purchases made using your Shopify Balance account. All current rewards are listed on the Shopify Balance rewards page in your Shopify admin. You can also earn rewards on eligible advertising payments made directly from your Shopify Balance account.

Shopify Balance cashback rewards overview
When you make eligible purchases from Shopify using your Shopify Balance account, a percentage of the purchase price is deposited into your Shopify Balance account up to a maximum of $2,000 USD a year. The deposit doesn't include cashback from Shopify partners.
You can also earn 1% cashback on eligible advertising payments made directly from your Shopify Balance account, up to $100,000 USD in ad spend per year (maximum $1,000 USD in cashback annually), subject to separate eligibility requirements.
Cashback is deposited into your Shopify Balance account on a monthly basis. The annual limit resets on January 1, regardless of the amount of cashback that you earned in the previous year. The limit doesn't carry over to the new year.
Eligibility requirements for Shopify Balance cashback rewards
To be eligible for cashback rewards, you must have a physical or virtual Shopify Balance card set as your primary payment method card.
Use your Shopify Balance card for Shopify bill to earn cashback rewards
You can earn 2% cashback on eligible purchases (including shipping labels, Shopify Messaging, apps, custom domains, and themes), when you pay your Shopify bill with your Shopify Balance virtual or physical card. If your Shopify Balance card is set as your primary payment method, then you automatically earn cashback on eligible purchases.
Steps:
From your Shopify admin, go to Finance > Balance.
Click Main.
In the Rewards section, click View more.
Click Start earning cashback.
In the Use Balance card for Shopify bills dialog, click Use Balance card for Shopify bills.
Eligible transactions for cashback rewards
Various transactions are eligible for cashback rewards when made using your Shopify Balance card.

Earn cashback on eligible ad payments from your Shopify Balance account
You can earn 1% cashback on eligible advertising payments made directly from your Shopify Balance account, even when you don't use your Shopify Balance card. This program applies to supported advertising platforms such as Meta and Google. Cashback is deposited into your Shopify Balance account on a monthly basis.
To be eligible for ad payment cashback rewards, your account must meet at least one of the following requirements:
- Spend $10,000 USD or more on Shopify Credit in the previous calendar month
- Receive $10,000 USD or more in Shopify Capital funding in the past 12 months
Your account must also be active and in good standing on the day of reward payment.
Eligible ad payment cashback is limited to $100,000 USD in ad spend per year, for a maximum of $1,000 USD in cashback rewards annually.
Eligible payments are limited to direct debits from your Shopify Balance account on supported advertising platforms, such as Google and Meta. Outbound ACH transfers, wire transfers, refunds, reversals, and returned payments aren't eligible and can reduce or reverse cashback earned through this program.
