Connecting a Hover domain to Shopify
If you purchased a domain from Hover and want to use it on a Shopify store without moving the hosting to Shopify, then this guide will help you manually connect your Hover domain to Shopify.

Step 1: Log in to your Hover account
- Open a new browser tab, and then log in to your Hover account.
- Go to Your Account > Control Panel, and then click on the domain that you want to connect to Shopify.
- Locate the Shopify logo in the Connect card.

- Click the Shopify bag, and then click Connect.

Step 2: Verify DNS Settings
Note: An A record is required only when connecting the root domain (for example, shopify.com). If you're connecting a subdomain (for example, shop.shopify.com), then you only need to configure a CNAME record.
- Go to DNS.
- Ensure that the A record is
23.227.38.65. - Ensure that the CNAME is
shops.myshopify.com..
Step 3: Connect and verify your domain with Shopify
- Open a new browser tab, and then go to your Shopify Admin.
- Click Settings > Domains.
- Click Connect existing.
- Enter the domain name, and then click Next.
- If your domain requires additional verification, then complete the following steps:
- In your Shopify tab, locate the New value, and then click the copy icon.
- In your Hover tab, click Your Account > Control Panel.
- Click the domain that you want to connect, and then click DNS.

- Click Add record.

- For the Type, select TXT.
- In the HOSTNAME field, enter shopify_verification.
- In the CONTENT field, paste in the New value from Shopify.
- Click ADD RECORD.

- Go back to your Shopify tab, and then click I updated DNS records.
