Fulfillment time and delivery dates
You can set up fulfillment time and display delivery dates at checkout to help customers know when to expect their orders. Fulfillment time is the time between when an order is placed by a customer and when you fulfill it by giving the shipment to a carrier service.
Before you set up delivery dates, make sure to understand fulfillment time and how to improve your process. After you understand fulfillment time, compare your delivery date options and choose the method that works best for your store. You can display automated delivery dates based on your shipping performance, such as Estimated delivery Mon, Jun 30, or manual delivery dates based on fulfillment time and transit time that you set, such as Wednesday, October 27 – Thursday, October 28.
You might use delivery dates when you want to give customers confidence in when orders will arrive, reduce questions about order timing, or encourage purchase completion by showing fast delivery options. Faster fulfillment times can help you offer quicker delivery dates and choose less expensive shipping options and still maintain reasonable delivery timeframes.
